What is hyper parenting? watch this!
This video explains and talks about hyper parenting, also known as the "helicopter" parent. It shows how parents act and what they will do in order to become a hyper parent. It showed that at such a young age what parents will do for their children even though their child doesn't even know how to talk yet. The parent takes action and make the decisions for the child, exactly what is shown in this video. Many parents will try and enroll their children into pageants and make them become a professional athlete. The parents will become more obsessed with the competitions then the kids.. Most of the time the kids are only toddlers and think that they are only having fun. Many of these parents are self centered and basically want to reinvent themselves in their child's life so they can live out their failed dreams. Many of these kids moms will spend more than $50,000 on cosmetics and essentials to win these pageants when this money can be put away for the child's education and grow up and be self sufficient. In this video, the hairdresser says that Paige's hair is always very dry because of all the pageants she has done and Paige is only four. Stacie, Paige's mom got Paige into pageants at the age of 2. Stacie keeps a sticker on her car saying, "Pageant Mom" and she doesn't believe she is considered a "Pageant Mom." Mike, Paige's dad is also a hyper parent. He is a chiropractor and checks her before every pageant and Paige doesn't even know how to cooperate because she is so young. Mike says, "Anything that is out of balance, I balance it out because we want her to be at her best for every pageant." Most parents that enroll their children into sports and fun activities like this will be because the child wants to and they enjoy it. The parent wont care if the child wins or what place they come in. Mike and Stacie tell Paige that she is going to win and doesn't give her an option. Its easy to forget what's important when being a parent, the role of the parent is to be present and many parents are present but not the way they should be. Being a hyper parent and an overbearing parent may do more harm to the child in the future and could cause many side effects and many parents don't put that into consideration when raising their child.
